United Soccer Youth Futsal (“USYF”) is a special community within US Soccer and is the largest and fastest-growing futsal organization in the United States. USYF is now in 30 states, and only grants affiliate status to members who fulfill very selective requirements.
Currently, there are just 11 US Soccer futsal affiliates in California… and only two in Los Angeles.
The latest is our very own Evolve Soccer LA.
In June 2019, USYF granted Evolve Soccer LA the special honor of being an US Soccer affiliate. Evolve owner Damian Murphy is thrilled, stating: “We want to thank our hard-working staff and US Soccer for making this happen. This is a huge deal for us and the next step in making Evolve Soccer the premier futsal and indoor soccer facility in Southern California.”
“The conversion of our indoor pitch to a larger futsal court and the addition of our new outdoor turf field brings a whole new set of opportunities for youth development in Los Angeles.”
When in the Los Angeles area, stop by Evolve to see our brand new hard, smooth futsal court and outdoor turf field, and make sure to sign up for soccer camps or for other programs. We offer various classes for youth of all levels and also opportunities for adults to play super fun pick-up soccer games.
Evolve Soccer is now one of only 11 California sites on the US Futsal website.

US Youth Futsal Background
The mission of US Youth Futsal is to develop players, coaches, and officials to compete at the highest levels of futsal and soccer in the world. Evolve offers player clinics, soccer camps and other development programs to meet this mission and strives to improve the soccer “touch” of players and to make players extremely comfortable with the ball.
US Youth Futsal was founded in 1994 when the United States hosted a spectacular World Cup. As of 2019, there were over 52,795 registered youth players, 100+ Leagues in 30 States. Each year there are 10 Regional Championships, a National Championship, and 8 National Teams.
Like many of the great clubs in the world like Barcelona, US Soccer has embraced futsal as an additional opportunity to develop great players. Neymar, Pele, Maradona, Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho are just a few of the superstars around the world who have played futsal at a young age.

More About Futsal
Although futsal began in the 1930’s, FIFA rewarded official status to indoor soccer in the 1980’s. Teams are usually 5 v 5, and players play small-sided game on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, low bounce ball. There is a touchline boundaries without walls.
To help prepare for the outdoor game, futsal places a large emphasis on technical skill in high pressure situations. Futsal is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking and pin-point passing.
How Futsal helps your Son or Daughter in Soccer?
From the US Soccer Futsal website, the top priority of futsal is to motivate players in an environment that is conducive to learning.
The philosophy of Evolve Soccer is no different!
The more pleasure kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. While their instinct to play is natural, their affection and appreciation for soccer must be cultivated. Futsal is the foundation to such goals because it:
– Allows players to frequently touch the ball.
– Presents many opportunities to score goals and score goals often.
– Encourages regaining possession of the ball as a productive, fun and rewarding part of the game (defending).
– Maximizes active participation and minimizes inactivity and boredom.
– Reflects the philosophy of player development expressed in state and national coaching schools.
– Eliminates complicated rules such as off-sides that may hinder youngsters from “playing”.
